Default harbor freight Jack

Has anyone used one of these jacks & are they worth a flip? Price seems kinda cheap & $89.00 but has a 1500# lift cap.

It's what I use, I'll end up with a better one down the line. Works fine except I tap it down as the slow release is " pedal all the way down" .

Who designs this stuff? Should have a SLOW release FIRST. Scares the **** out of me so I just tap it down slowly. Nice to have it though when washing the scoot yesterday. Can't complain for the price. I'll drop some hints around xmas time...............

They go on sale for less that the $89 price, $59 I think but could be wrong.

I see no need for anything more expensive unless there is one that dispenses cold beer.

I have this jack and it works great, especially since doing the sc-longhair mod to it.
I will agree the release pedal is a little touchy and to quick to bleed off but you get used to it by tapping it like the previous poster mentioned. I see no reason to up grade to an over priced jack until this one takes a crap and even then i don't see the point since this one is rock solid since modifying it.

Someone mentioned a couple days ago the Sears Red motorcycle jack is only 99 these days. Get the Sears jack and do the mod to make it fit the Dyna.

Check out my albums and what I have done off mine. You can read one caution I have made in my pictures. There is one thing I must do and that is land bike on 4 pcs of 2x3x3/4 plywood to clear my shocks. I have not looked under a Dyna. I have yet to strap the bike but I do not do heavy torque and use impact to break bolts free. Does drop a little quick. I wish it had a manual screw type release. It say to push it down hard to slow drop but mine seems to only have one speed. There is a mod on youtube had to modify peddle to slow drop but once you are use to it its OK. Also if you need to use wood blocks use plywood or make sure grain is running proper direction. The round bar on the frame of a heavy Harley could slice right thru it if it runs with the grain.

You can do the mod to either, you don't have to cut a bar out on the HF like you do on the Sears jack and if your cheap like me, you can just use the bolts that come with HF jack because of the way they designed the lift pads. My bike has been, unfortunately, sitting on my jack for 3-4 weeks and it is not going anywhere, barring a major earth quake.

I have not used the Harbor Freight lift, but have always been able to very slowly and gently lower the Sears lift using the little foot pedal.
