+2 - same noise, same year. Im about to throw my bike in for cam and final drive sprocket work, hoping they diagnose the issue while in there. (yea, i know, both of those things can be done myself) anyone that chimes in with that has a free pass to come help me with the other 4 projects I am currently working on.

anyway, back on topic - this noise drives me nuckin futs

My primary chain has made a whirring noise since new....opened it up...all fine...I can also hear my valvetrain, cam drives, and my clutch lever sometimes buzzes on the freeway. I just have never really owned a motorcycle that didn't make mechanical noise. Even my 2 strokers back in the 1970's did but the wing ding noise drowned it out.
