I want to run my wire up my back bone tube and find away to mount it between my riser mounts on my bar. I want to be able to us it for music (while being able to see what is being played) and as a NAV if need be. I am not worried about it being on the bar because I don't have to run earbud cable to it because I use Sony's bluetooth earbud head phones. I just need to find away to mount it with out it looking bulky or odd. and it would be even better if I had away to water proof it.

What earphones are you using??? do they have that bar connecting the earbuds?? You have to be wearing a half helmet, thats really got to cut down on the music volume.... Just trying to get info on the earbuds, sounds like a good idea.
Well that's just fine and dandy for the iphone. What I am having problems wiring is my electric toothbrush.....with all the damned bugs and stuff, I need to keep my teeth clean while out riding.

Here is a link. I would post a pic of the head phones but I am not sure how to does that from my iPhone.
Sound quality is great, they actually block out a little of the rushing air compression noise you get over the ear when wearing a half helmet.
And if you use the wall charger adaptor for the iPhone (one that let you plug in the USB cable, you can also use it to charge the head phones with it's USB charging cable.

Those head phones come a few different size buds, what I did was once I found the size that suites my ear, I applied a little super glue to the bud between it and the headset. I figured this out when using my skull candy ear buds, if the cable got snagged and was pulled out of my ear ( happens taking jacket, vest.....etc off) the ear bud would come off. This is not good when you go to scratch your neck, adjust the location of you helmet strap, or try to adjust the bud in your ear and it comes out while riding. You will deffinetly loss the bud then. So the glue help keep it in place when the ear phone comes out of your ear while cruising down the road.
My setup is very similar to what most posters mentioned here. I have a cig lighter socket installed and it lays in my fork bag until I need it. Bought a dual USB adapter to plug into it. Only use my IPhone since it has GPS, music, phone etc. Here's a few pics:
The mount is a TechMount

I used the pigtail for the battery tender. Before using it for an auxiliary power point, I installed a 15 amp fuse at the battery for safety. Then I got a cigarette lighter plug from Wally World and a two prong plug that fit the battery tender plug. A little solder, some heat-shrink tubing and you're done.
When you don't need or want the aux power, just unplug and leave it at home. Use enough wire to allow it to slip in between the seat and tank.
Thanks bro! I'm takin' this idea home with me cuz it's simple, effective, and inexpensive. I don't need to mount my phone where I can see it cuz all I use it for while ridin' is the music, so it's perfect for my set up. That's good engineering.

NICE!! thanks, those look small enough to squeeze into a full face...
get a regular charger, cut the plug off the end, split it and conect it to the battery using a fuse on the power line. what i personally would do is add a cig lighter to the bike, super easy to do and you can stash it, then just use a reg house charger... that is how i have my I pod charger hooked up
+1, only 1 remark: in case you want to use your iPhone also as GPS look for the charger that is able to give over 1A (Amper) of current. With regular chargers you will discharge your iPhone even when connected to charger (when used as GPS).
