Primary Cover Gasket Question
Just replaced the outer primary cover gasket and tower gasket. After a 30 mile ride, the gasket was seeping oil along the bottom of the cover. It did this for a couple more rides, and then stopped. Total oil loss was maybe 1/4 oz. Do these kind of gaskets have to "seat" themselves sometimes? I followed proper torque sequence and specs.
nope sounds like you have a bad gasket or the torque is off, i made my own gasket after CNC the derby cover out or cork board and if it is not snug up on there it will leak. i would say pull it off and make sure that it was in there right, then snug it back up

If its not leaking now, I wouldnt worry about it if only a small amount of oil was lost. If its torqued ok, the only thing that might cause a problem if it was put in the wrong way round. The red writing on the gasket should face the clutch, away from the cover.

It's the large gasket that goes around the perimeter of the primary cover. I guess I'll just keep an eye on it cause that sucker is $30.00!
