This is a question only an *** can answer and the only *** that counts is your's. The leather will soften & the foam will break-in over time. It will take a few thousand miles. It still might not be the right seat for you though. Lots of aftermarket choices.

I don't think mine "broke in" or softened up. It doesn't bother my backside, so I still have my stock seat....6,000 miles so far. If it bothers you, you should look at an aftermarket replacement.

Thats prolly one of the most common complaints I hear about any motorcycle is the seat not being comfortable. I've still got the stock seat on mine and love it, but to each their own, you will most likely need to look into a new one if 10 miles is hurting you.

For me, all of the pressure with the stock seat is over about 6 inches of my rear! I'm a little bigger than that. It looks like you are too...no offense. The bigger seats spread the "load" over more of your rear. Depending on your size/shape the stock seat can work.

It's not like they intentionally made the seat to be uncomfortable! I recently did a 14+ hour trip with my tall boy with no complaints. I was thinking that the solo seat can't be really that bad, so I tried it again. I made it about 1 hour before it really started to bother me. Oh, I made it another 45 minutes til I got home, but it wasn't great.

First off, great choice on the Street Bob....best looking bike in the H-D line-up. I'm bias, though. As for the solo seat, give it some miles it'll break in. Besides the seat, your **** needs to get used to riding (if this is your first bike in some time). I went with a two-up seat for the simple fact I have a wife and she likes to go for short rides from time to time.

Had my SB since May and almost 4000 miles later the seat still sucks. I'm good for about an hour or two then I need a break. The longer the ride the worse it gets.

Eventually I'll have the seat shaved down and maybe drop in a gel pad but that comes after some other mods.

The funny thing about pain is that no matter where you hurt, it's often a result of a combination of several elements. Your first instinct, considering where you hurt, would be to replace the seat. Things like foot and handlebar position may be the culprit. Think about going to a dealer that has a fit specialist. They'll make suggestions and you're under no obligation to purchase HD parts. That being said, the first mod I made was a Mustang seat. LOL!

Stock seat on mine and it is ok. Best mod to date was adding hwy pegs. Allows me to change pressure point on my back/rump and keeps me in the saddle.
