I put 400+ miles on in a straight run back from Americade and felt like I wanted another 200 or so. That was with stock mid-controls, mini-apes from a Street Bob (as someone else mentioned) and a Sundowner seat. 2 days ago I threw on some Kuryakyn forward controls and I have their stirrups being shipped to me now from Dream Cycle in Ottawa. The ride was great and now, with the forwards on, I'm so wishing it was just the beginning of Spring.

I went from a 1200 custom to a fat bob. Difference is like night and day. Night being better than the day. lol The dyna rides smooth, not choppy like the sporty. I loved my 1200 lots a chrome and moded out. Just couldn't pass up the dyna. I'm not going bigger either, I'll stick with this. I ride too ride, not a big comfort type guy.

I ride an '06 super-G, 6 ft. /250 lbs. The super-G is (in my opinion) the quickest and, most nimble of the big bore HD's. For leg comfort, put on some forward controls. These will take some getting use to but, the trade-off is leg comfort on the long haul. Next, put a sundowner one one or two up seat on it. (The stock seat on Super-G sucks on a long ride) Then, put a radial tire on the back. This wil eliminate that shimmy when you change lanes on the free-way. What you end up with is a good commuter that loves the week-end long haul just for the fun of it that rides like you're on a lazyboy. best wishes, Harley Tim

They really are great bikes, very versatile. I would have not problem doing a long run on mine. I've got a Q/R windshield, a set of throw-over saddle bags, and an expandable T-bag w/ a roll bag. I figure I could pack enough in there for as long a trip as I'd want to do. Could probably put enough in there for the g/f and I to go for a week or more. I figure I can switch it from general run-around mode (w/ none of that stuff on it) to full-blown road trip mode in about 15 min. Only 1 bolt, the seat bolt. Would love to take a couple of weeks and ride around the country.

NUBZ,
The dynas are great bikes. I have had my Lowrider for 5+ years, If I were to buy a new bike it would be a dyna. Awsome bike you can load em up or strip em down. I am short so I rigged some floorboards for comfort, windvest windshield to help with fatigue on long rides
and a comfy seat.

Sorry, but you are not going to shut us up. We love our Dynas and want to talk about them.

Be careful about what you think a "larger" Harley is. My '06 Street Bob has a longer wheelbase than an '06 Ultra Classic because of the greater rake. The Ultra looks bigger becasue of all the stuff hanging off of it.
