Default Battery HELP

What do you guys think about the Acid filled battery's verse the JELL type???

Kinda short on funds at the moment and looking for some advice. I know the factory batt is a jell but do you think the liquid will work alright for me in a pinch?

There is no reason why the old standard acid cell won't work, but the life of the battery won't be the same as a gel. Don't forget to add in the additional costs of a few pair of new jeans when your figuring out total cost. Never had an acid battery that didn't somehow leak, and ruin a few pair of jeans a year with unwanted holes in the thighs.

As said, a battery is a battery. As long as it´s 12v it will work. But as Wescoot2 mentioned, there are other aspects too.

I prefere the jell batteries for the no maintenance aspect. If you use an acid filled battery run a vent hose under the bike somewhere

My brother just replaced his stock gel with one from Advance Auto Parts...saved a good deal of money over going with the stocker again.

The Advance battery was a gel also...may want to check it out.
