Default Question About HD Quick Detachable Windshield

Just picked up an HD Quick Detachable windshield and curious as to whether or not they scratch the forks after awhile. Can any of your current owners chime in please.

No scratches here, but I only use it on long trips.

As long as you keep the rubber pieces on there no!! You'll get some rub marks, but they come right out with your hand or a cloth.

Easy on, easy off. Probably takes 10 seconds. Other than hearing of clamps breaking on occasion, it's a great system. No hardware left on the bike and absolutely no scratches and I've had it on and off many time over the past few years.

It will scratch the triples if put it as low as you can. Other then that, just rub marks that can be removed.

Two and a half years and over 20k on the bike and no problems at all. Only time the shield comes off is to clean it and wash the bike.

Probably depends on the style of q/r windshield. The H-D one I have on my '04 FXDWG has the docking hardware that stays on the bike.
