I seem to recall Mark from Baker saying ATF was fine for their comp.

If you click on the "Click Here" to get a step by step guide on installing the BAKER Compensator Kit. " You will notice what there using in the last frame of the installation guide , ( scroll to the bottom of the installation guide )
This is what I'm going with this change. Baker recommends this for there Compensating sprocket , at the rate those are crapping out , especially the SE ones in the 14 up bikes I want to increase my survival rate if possible.
I have always ran ATF type F in my primary on every harley I have owned. The Compensating Sprocket is a piece of junk! Poor idea by Harley just like the
"tea cup" they had prior to the comp sprocket, all designed to keep us from using after market stuff. You can replace that junk of junk with a normal sprocket available from aftermarket suppliers. I am getting ready to put a BDL open primary drive on my 2011 heritage. No more comp clunk for me.
My bikes a 2013,
Been running ATF since it's first change at 1000 miles. Swapped to the HD stuff once because I had some, but back to ATF again. Those who question ATF, probably never used it, and listen to internet fodder WAY too much.
1. I did run ATF with a SE comp and it didn't work out well.
2. You neglect to say how many miles you have on your 13. I use Formula + now and I changed my comp out at 85 or 90K and it was really in pretty good shape. No noise and no starter issues, but it did show some wear. I've got 128K on the bike now and the new comp is going strong.
Revbig- Just a thought, but maybe you wouldn't say the SE comp was a POS if you didn't use ATF.
I just had baker comp, armored attitude installed and I run se vpc. Baker recomends 40oz spectro primary fluid, so that is what's I run. When I first read that I was thinking that is over fill from what Harley recomends but it seems to shift good with no slippage.

I think the SE comp is a POS because it creates a jerk on the internal workings of the primary and the starter., when you start it up. I will be changing it to a non compensating sprocket. Everyone has their opinions on fluids for their bike.
older service manuals recommended ATF in the primary and gear oil in the trans. Now that Harley markets its "fluids" they naturally recommend using theirs. If they had gas pumps at dealerships and recommended the use of Harley gas I guess everyone would run to the dealership for that "special" harley blend. I don't run Harley branded tires either.
Quick question, How much fluid does the primary on my 16 Lowrider hold ?
I am thinking about switching my primary over to Redline along with the transmission .
Going to keep the motor on HD fluid as I have free oil changes, but they told me for $22 I could step up to HD synthetic so next I am going to do that.
I have Redline in my truck and am real happy with how quiet and smooth the motor runs now.
My 2012 wg- 1qt 32 ounces on a change, 34 ounces if u take the cover off. I think all the newer dyna'a are the same, but check your service manual or owners manual. U can always measure what u take out. My old Fxr is like 38 to 42 ( I think of the top of my head) but they give u a measurement which comes in handy. 2.5 inches from fluid to center of clutch adjust bolt.
