I just got a fork brace for my '06 Dyna. Now I can't get the slide cover to "slide" up the forks to install the brace. Am I going to have to remove the front fender? Or does anyone know any tricks to get this loose?

 

hey can post some pics when you do get it installed.i was thinking of getting one,but not sure how it will look.and give us a update on how it handles after.thanks and hope you figure out how to install it.

What is the part # for the brace??

So it installs between the slider cover and the slider assembly??

slider cover does not "slide up the forks" until after you give it a few love taps with a brass drift.
There is a notch in the slider assembly where you do the drift thang.

I realized I had the wrong part, it was for up to '05. Went back to dealer and the right part should be here by Wednesday. No wonder I couldn't get it to fit. New part doesn't require slide cover to be moved. Just bolt on over covers. I'll post pics when I get it done (hopefully).
