After reading the thread about the muffler bracket shearing the bolts that go into the transmission case, I went and checked mine out. Sure enough I am completely missing one of the bolts.
What I need to know is what kind of bolt belongs on the bottom of the stock exhaust muffle bracket? There are 2 at the top of the bracket right next to each other (looks like a bolt, then a stud with a nut on it) What was at the bottom of the bracket?
Is it the same exact bolt as either of the other 2 that are in the bracket? I have a set of V&H Big Shots on the way and I only need one of the stock bolts to mount the new bracket so I'm hoping my missing bolt is the same as one of the other two.
The parts book shows a 'locknut, flange' (PN 7531) similar to the nut at the top of the bracket. This implies that there is a stud from the transmission casing at the bottom and top of the bracket. The nut is further described as a LOCKNUT, 5/16-18 X 9/32 X 1/2 flange.
