Went to bike Rally - the whole place literally exploded!!
Seriously not a joke. Went to a bike rally that we go to every year with friends. Decided for some reason that we just wanted to leave early and headed out to our bikes at 215 pm. As we started to gear up, a huge explosion sets off not 100 feet from our bikes in the diner at Catskill Mountain Thunder. Needless to say, we and everyone else around, were told to get the hell out and didn't have to be told twice.
38 special was supposed to play tonight and a couple other bands and there were campers and vendor tents and such all over. The news isn't saying much yet - just that they don't know about the injuries but the entire place were burned to the ground. Have never been that close to a fire, much less explosion, in my life and riding in that kind of chaos was amazing.
Prayers to all who were there and the firefighters still fighting the good fight. Just felt I needed to share.

that sucks man.. 38 special is awesome in concert..they sound better than they do on cd.. i like the meadley thing they do at the end of the show that mixes like 20 songs together and it flows amazing
Thanks for sending the additional links. Still having trouble finding more info. Hoping everyone is ok but rumors are flying about deaths from all corners. you know how it is in small towns - nothing else to talk about so people make stuff up.
