I have a 2" lift with out any problems, filled up once and left the bike standing in the sun, when I came back fuel was pouring out the cap, that is the only time I have had a problem.
how about remove it, then put it in trash....i dislike tank lifts lol
+1 !
isn't there enough problems built into the bike from the factory?
Seems that half of the discussions here are how to fix problems ya'all creating ...
There are other post on here about leaking gas caps. Mine leaked until I did what they said on here. Keep turning while pressing down for at least two full rotations. It seems to tighten more even after hearing the clicking sound. Try it.
Seen a lot of these lately, How's the new higher center of gravity with a full gas tank, just curious if you did it just for looks or any other reason...?
Looks was not the deciding factor. I live in San Antonio and the heat is real bad, but i will keep riding. I wanted more air moving over the heads. That along with oil cooler and wrapped pipes, i can ride all day and the bike runs like it is cool all the time. The looks just happened. I am going to try the pop ups, but, i won't know untill i get home in Feb from Afghanistan.
Can't see a pic but that is cool if it lets more air in around the head, only logical I guess, did you use a kit or something from like bungking.com or make your own, seems easy enough.

The pop ups are cool, but if you are buying them ONLY because of the leaky vent,..... try borrowing a buddies cap first. As I said earlier, mine started spraying me with fuel on hard acceleration (when full) and a new OEM cap cured it.
Also, any chance you pinched the hose that vents the tank? You did just fuss around with the tank and all,......
The pressure has to be released, and a clogged vent tube will make the pressure go to the path of least resistance.
