It's not entirely upright, you still tip the bike just not half as much. move your butt on the seat to the inside of the turn and lean off the edge of the bike just enough to minimize the need to tip the bike to far as to tear your primary or pipes up. it's kinda like if your doing a u-turn but instead of moving your butt to the outside of the turn you do the inside and lean over slightly.

They did an excellent job setting up the shocks and springs for my riding style. The bike may not necessarily be set up for serious hot-rodding, but I can still eat you for lunch and ask for dessert

+1 that is how I have been riding all of my bikes. Street bikes are not cafe racers. Usually guys who came from crotch rockets will be scraping up all of their parts. It's all countersteering and staying vertical while the bike corners.

yea i came from riding crotch rockets for 4 years, so any decent corner if i press it down far enough it drags.. theres definitly alot of cormer room with that 180 rear. Other wise bike is basicly stock other than seat and slip ons. If i take it easier on it i wont hit anything.

Ya I think this is the problem, Larger bikes use a totally different riding style.

For starters most Harleys are " CRUISERS " weighing in @ over 1000lbs with a rider and NOT designed for hard high speed cornering, where as your crotch rocket is far less weight and designed just for those the high speed twisties.

Plus with the adjusted riding style done right YOU should just about scrap the ground at the same time your bike does, that's why they wear full body armor with knee pads.

I started riding dirt hard when i was 10 in 1979 and crashed more time then I can remember on both dirt and street, in dirt the bike is under you in the corners but NOT street, you need maximum traction and thats not found on the pointy edge of your tire or the steel of your pegs, i.e. if your scraping your Harley, your asking for trouble and need more training " OR " an upgraded bike and if that doesn't work you may need a different bike.

Not trying to make anyone mad here, just don't want to see people kill themselves.

Scraping...music to my ears....but not hard parts of the machine, pegs okay tho.
Like guys said, raise the bike with longer shocks, tighten the suspension, if you have mids, you can get off the seat to the inside of a turn. Check for proper tire inflation and tread remaining...lose some weight. Crank the bike over most on SMOOTHLY paved roads.

The above pic is a prime example of moving your butt over during hard corning, the only think I do different is I extend my right arm and leg more and lean my upper body low and hard, thereby standing the bike up more in the turn. this gives you room for more speed before contact and God forbid something goes wrong hell I'm already on the ground now I only have to worry about stopping, lol.

Well I've got a nice long ride tomorrow with some great twisties. I'll experiment with this.
