I bought mine online from some wierd name place called chilhowee. Makes me think of the old 'fukowee' joke. In any case, it's the second pair I've had. In 34 years. And the old ones are still about 95% perfect. Anyway, they're gauntlets, unlined and that's the way I like them.

They're a little spendy at the home site, but I can't find the name brand anywhere else and I know what I want.

Why Deerskin Is The Best Choice for Motorcycle Gloves

Unlike cowhide gloves, Deerskin gloves have stretch width-wise and very little stretch length-wise. That means a snug fitting glove that will expand with your hand when you make a fist or grip something, but the fingers won't stretch or become floppy. The physical structure of deerskin leather is different than other type of hide. Its elongated interwoven fibers give it an extremely high shear strength and abrasion resistance. The spaces between the fibers make the leather soft and comfortable over a wide range of temperatures. In other words: cooler in warm weather and warmer in cold weather. No other hide has these properties!

Don't Try This With Cowhide Gloves!

Whenever deerskin gets soiled it can be hand-washed. When it gets wet it will not shrink - and it stays soft even after air-drying! You can't do that with any other leather.

G:
If you want non-gauntlets, I can understand it. But gauntlets? When you need 'em, there's no substitute. You want lined? I hate lined gloves. Not 'dislike' mind you -- Hate 'em. At least for riding. If it's that cold, you need to stay home by the fireplace. Fer real.

Everybody's different. Everybody has had different exposures to different things. But after 45 years of (off and on) riding, I highly recommend these.

Just my $.02 -- Just my opinion. YMMV.

Hey Grendel4. Thanks for the info sounds like a real good glove and I'm going to order a pair. Just wish your Location was Minnesota or Wisconsin instead of Southwest Florida, since it would significantly help your credibility level when it comes to cold weather clothing!

I use a few different pairs of gloves. For lite weight I have a pair of deer skin gloves, fit was excellent and I have had them for years. Not sure who makes them though. I also have a pair of Olympia Gauntlets, 20 + years old and they are still in great shape. For really cold days, my brother got me a pair of Heated Gloves with the thermostat. They are made by Gerbings who makes them for HD. I just plug them into the battery and damn my hands are like toast....I am not sure what I did without them. I am also in NY as well....Hope this helps....

I bought my first pair when I lived in caveland, aka: The Mistake On The Lake.

The day I rode my Bike home from the Dealer down here, it was 38 degrees outside. Chilled my nuggets but my hands were warm.

The thing I like about the gauntlets is, they keep the wind from blowing up your jacket sleeve. And the rain, too. To me, lined gloves hold moisture and moisture holds the cold. At least, IMO it does. When the 'hawk' hits anything slightly damp, it's bone-chilling. I think the un-lined ones wick away moisture better. But again, that's me. And I've been accused of being not quite right upstairs.

The pair I recommended are definitely not suited for Arctic exploration but, c'mon -- Riding is for fun.

I have always had this problem last year, finding out your glove don't keep you warm worth **** 15 minutes away is pure hell. My fingers were burning when I got back home.

Just picked up a pair of Deerskin Guantlets. They are very soft and they fit great, I got them at a local store called The Boot Box, they look decent for $25.
