Default Rear Brake Question

I have an 09 Fat Bob. I took the bike in for the 5000 mile service and to have the rear tire balanced as the weights somehow came off the wheel. I got the bike back and the rear brake drags so bad that the caliper gets very hot to the touch and this is without using it to stop. Also just pushing the bike you can hear it dragging. Took it back to the dealer and I get a call from them that they can not find any issues with the brake. Any opinions or advice as to how to handle this? Thanks

Have you done a personal inspection of the complete rear brake assembly? Its possible HD managed to misalign the disk or messed up something with the brake pedal adjustment and just are too stupid or dishonest to admit it. They totally busted up my hand grip and the stop adjustment and were too stupid to recognize what they did and wouldn't even look into it. Most of the HD mechanics I have encountered at Dealers are hacks. Take your bike to a local Independent mechanic if you can't figure out what they did at the dealer. If you can discover what they did wrong, go back to the dealer and tell the owner why you'll never bring your bike back to them and how much free advertizing you're going to give them on the forum! I'll never let a Dealer touch my '10 WG again.

Take it back to the stealership and tell them your brakes were fine until they messed with your rear wheel. If it was working right it wouldn't be making noise and heating up. Your bike should still be under warranty... Your problem is not from normal wear and tear on your brakes

Let's see if I understand this.

You had a dealer take off the back wheel to balance it.

They put it back on and the brake pads rub the rotor without breaking.

And then they told you nothing is wrong???

Sounds to me as though the wheel is not mounted correctly, maybe even crooked, or out of alignment.

Don't ride if the caliper is heating up on it's own!

I would tell them to remove and inspect the caliper and to make sure that the pistons are moving freely. 5000 is not a lot of miles to gum up the pistons. Another case of having to tell the dealership what to do, as they couldn't figure this one out on their own. I've had to do this on more than one occasion. Pretty pathetic.
