all i can say is HOLY S#$%T. should have done the heads the first time around i was concerned the 54s would wash out the 100 ftlbs of tq the bike had at 2000 rpms with the 37s but it sure doesnt feel like it ,,compression was set at 10.1t01 and with the mega-flo heads and the 54s i cant believe the difference, rode 150 miles the first day,, cant wait to get this one dynoed

i remember when i did mine i had the same thought.. got it all done gassed it up then came time to start it..OOOH MAN she loped and purred then i cracked the throttle a little WOOOHOOOO... eased it up the forever long dirt hell hole driveway then eased it through first and said F-IT hammered that sucker through 2nd to 5th OMG front wheel came off the ground into 3rd and i think i squeaked like a little b*tch at one point lol... fun times gotta love these toys!
i too need to get mine dyno'd its over 100 miles to get to a dyno for me though.. some day we will find out what she makes!!
The same feeling here! When I did my heads and swapped my cams for the first time, it was like a whole different bike! If I remember right, after the cam swap and headwork I gained like 16 more hp over my old 103" set-up.
I took the wife out all loaded up wiht the bags for a ride last sunday... had trouble launching on the line and keeping my front end down! ha ha ha glad you love your build man
Sounds like a nice setup. Low end power and the bike keeps on pulling.
the first 50 miles i took it easy to seat the rings 2500 rpms max, 2000 still feels the same as before, but at 2500 it really comes alive,,, for a couple hundred more miles ill keep at 3500 max,,, this weekend im doing a 350 mile round trip to pa. that will make 500+ miles on the build and then ill change the oil then twist the throttle more,,, im still grinning from ear to ear
