Now that I think about it, I think maybe a primary mounted plate will be best cuz that fender is skinny. Make yourself a bracket that allows the plate to sit in tight as possible and be sure to use the lighted bolts so the fuzz cant harass you. If you mount it in tightly it will look almost as clean as a vertical setup. The primary being so wide on HD makes it a great place to mount a plate and not mess up the flow. The shocks will take your eyes away from it on a rear view.

I actually think I am going to cut the existing fender off just above the factory tail light, use kury mini silver bullet signals mounted tight on the struts and use a run/turn/stop module with them as my brake lights and signals.
I am going to try and come up with a side mount plate today. Gotta keep it horizontal thought, dont want any police problems for the wife shoud she decide to ride it.
