Just won a seat on ebay and was wondering what else I need to mount. I dont want to buy a kit and find 4 rubber mounts and no hardware...mounting screws and nuts. I have searched to see wht is in a bumper kit cant seem to find.
I'm pretty sure it's just the foam bumper pads you'd stick on the underside of the seat to protect your fender paint. Otherwise the hard plastic surface on the underside of your seat would rub directly on the paint resulting in scratches.
the kit (Item #: 51653-06) consists of 4 one inch rubber squares. I used weather stripping stuck it to the bottom of the seat. Somewhere on here there is a picture of the template for the placement of the bumpers.
I found it better to place the rubber squares (or what ever you you use) on the raised projections of the underside of the seat pan. That way you don't have the rubber squares remaining on the fender if you swap out your 2-up for the solo.

You can do that but stick some velcro (fuzzy soft side not the course scratchy side) on the backside of the rubber squares or the rubber squares will leave a mark on your paint.
