Anyone else wished they bought a softtail? but didnt realize the square tubing and shock after the purchase? And is there a way to hide shocks? I love my superglide but cant get past that design!
I'm not even sure what this means............. you didn't realize your bike had a swingarm and shocks until after you bought it???? WTF?????
but to answer your main question - no I've never wished I bought a softail. I've had second thoughts about not going fatbob or maybe a streetglide but I'm very happy with the SB.
I quite liked the idea of a softail until I rode one. Felt like a barge. Now I know a Harley is never going to be a sports bike, but my Fat Bob does at least go round corners.
I dont lurk really, I saw the new post from the OP and read what was being said. Just offered my 2 cents worth and commented on the apparent hatred toward the softails which I dont get, I never said I hate dynas just thought it was funny how dyna owners boast superior handling on an 8 foot long 700 lbs sled thats not made for handling. Cracks me up , whos justifying what here. I just dont care if I had exposed shocks or not, hadem on other bikes pain in the *** to keep clean and I like the softail so get the F*ck over it and go ride your glorified sporty!
Step 1. Admit you love Dynas and were lurking in the Dyna forum.
Step 2. Go to mirror and say I will not curse at fellow HD members 1000 times
Step 3. Forget about the guy on the Sportster that blew by you on the last bike week trip.

I'm 6'4". It's not that I don't like softails, softails don't like ME. I've felt cramped on every softail I've ever been on. That said, this has got to be the least productive thread I've seen in a while.

I can only guess that it was designed to be a troll thread...stir up a debate.
I did my homework first....different types of HD bikes, and then looked for specifically what I wanted..and got what I wanted. I'm 6'4" and change.., Dyna is a better fit for me.
No need for the OP to stir up debate and divide the HD crowd like this. People should get a bike based on what they like, their budget, what fits them better, and what's available to them at the time of purchase.
It never entered my mind. I will not get a softail will add a touring bike in the future which is juiced up. I didn't like the ride on the softail but nothing wrong with bikes they are great looking rides. As for the A hole who is missing some brain cells and thinks the Dyna is a Sporty thanks for the compliments, love the Sporties great fun bikes.
