The benifit is that you don't mess up your boots/shoes on the shifter. If you wear dress shoes the shine get rubbed off before you get out of the driveway without a heal shift. That means no riding to work/church/military dress uniform/western boots/etc.

So far I like it when I'm just in "cruise mode"...a little step down with the heel and you're in the next gear solidly...add's a little variety to riding. From the top down the "bend" matches the clutch cover and the serrated peg catches the heel easily for a quick snappy solid shift...would be good if you had an ankle/foot injury, too.

Would ya consider making another one for a fee? I've been looking for a shorter shifter( small feet) but this may work even better.

I'm w/ Joe Knapp, I like my stirrups. But you get props for a creative mod. Should go in Mud's <$50 list.

IIRC, there was a company that made something called a 'heel hammer' that did essentially the same thing.

nice clean look,I had a Shadow 1100 that had heel toe shifter took awhile to get used to,then got my softail took awhile to get used to not having one.
