Active Exhaust control, only on overseas models. H-D says it is to enhance performance, but I think it is to quiet the bike at idle and cruise. The more throttle you give the more the valve opens. It is only located on the bottom muffler. You may need to remove the cable from the module.

cbz1200n, From what you describe it sounds very similar to Yamaha's EXUP system. VW uses a similar system on the VR6 AWD GTI

I was not aware that overseas HD's had an exhaust device like this. It is used to to enhance low end (with more back pressure) and opens up the exhaust flow for better top end. The best of both worlds. Something like drag pipes without the negative effect on low end torque.
