Muffler/Baffle/Exuahst performance
Which generates better performance...
Cored baffles on the stock exhaust (I have a Dyna Fat Bob 2009)
OR
Screamin Eagle slip-ons?
I currently have the stock cored, sounds wonderful. Low RPM torque not amazing but high end is better.
The other question is... Will I be able to program the ECM without a dyno based on the cored baffle? Can its parameters be found anywhere?
Thank you all ;-)

Any idea if the cored baffles can be ECM mapped? without dyno that is.
Thanks
For performance, do you want low end grunt or max HP at the sacrifice of low end grunt?
Max HP, go with open 2 to 2 pipes and tune it.
The SE slips ons will provide enough back pressure to give you more low end grunt.
In any case, you will get far more performance for your $$ by doing a tune, especially if you do it yourself with or without dyno time.
The next question would be if I should go with an after market device for tuning or the HD one.
I'm thinking about the V&H suggested Fule Pak: www.fuelpakfi.com/, which is cheaper and easier to program.
Which will give me future exapnsion? If I do big bore or big displacement?
I'm not looking for re-maping with Power Commander.
Any advice?
If you can't afford the TTS kit, fuel packs work OK, a PCV even better.... the difference is not so much dyno sheets, its the street drivability... but general consensus is you need at least the sophistication of a TTS to do what I think you want. Its not so much that you can adjust the ***** yourself, its how to determine what ***** to twist and in which direction. Tools like the TTS give you a data log feedback so its less trial and error. It has a on street dyno power meter feature, which great for comparing one experimental mod vs another.
The more you get away from stock like heavy on mods, displacement, cams, head work, the more you will need a good dyno shop to get the most out of it. There is just no replacement for experience. In the mean time you can get close using the TTS kit and all the shops worth their salt can tune with the TTS. No wasted tuning tool money there.
