Stress Cracks on 2010 Street Bob (Rear Fender)
Got home, thought my license plate was loose, and noticed this..
Anyone else ever seen stress cracks because of the vibrations? You can see they followed the bracket for the tail light.

Note that he said "I never seen a fender crack like that! But I can see how it could happen with the plate hanging down like that and all the vibrations the bike makes.
He also said "My first thought was you backed into something."
Unless I am missing his point ( and I do not think that I am) what he said seems FAR from calling you a liar!

That isn't a dent. That is a cutout where the bolt goes. It is just the angle of the picture.
I had seen where it was looking to be cracking, but couldn't tell. One day I saw some rust color right next to the light. I wiped it, and it went away, but I bet that was the beginning of the cracking.
I am going to the dealer in the morning. The paint is fine, the license is fine, there isn't any signs of a hit or anything. It is just a stress crack where that bracket rides underneath.
I am sorry for the hot headed comment. It has been a week to remember. My wife turns left across traffic, and totals my truck. She wasn't hurt. Then Friday someone side swipes her new Honda Element. Totally messed it up. Then today I see this stress crack, and I am just off the hook. I was posting while the little girl, momma, and son were Trick or Treating, and I just didn't think his post through.
It is a stress crack. If the dealer gives me hell about it, I can't claim it. that would be 3 claims in 1 week to my insurance. Geez... See why I am wound up.
