Default Best tools

Total newbie with a 2010 Fat Bob.

While wandering through my local Sears today, I got to thinking about what tools are the most "Harley-compatible". Craftsman, Kobalt, Snap-On, etc.?

Would love to know the opinion of the forum.

Mine are all craftsman. They are reasonable priced, usually a location near to exchage, hardly ever fail, and best of all....Family and friends can get them for me pretty easy during the holidays.

I never really was a big fan of waiting for the truck....Especially since I dont work in a shop or dealership.

Snap-on has a harley specific line of tools. They also have a bike set thats in a pouch shaped like the harley tool box mounted to the rear right side.

I feel the same way. I was looking at some Torx sockets and wondering if they fit most Harley hardware or if I should be looking at some other brand.

So does Sears, Mac, and Matco, but a website wont get me a replacement tool within 24hrs.

I have used snap-on, mac, matco and craftsman. IMO Craftsman is a good trade off between quality and price. I actually like my Craftsman thin profile ratchets better than my brothers Snap-on

I think crapsman is fine if you dont wrench for a livin. I prefer snap-on industrial finish wrenches.

Listen Snap On is the Shnizzle you cant get any better its like holding the best of the best I cant even explain it you just feel like a professional using those tools, but with that said who has the $$$ for them.......

A good option is craftsman all the way here is a little story I needed a breaker bar we where working on my neighbors old CB 450 I found a old, I mean old breaker bar that I had I thought it still worked but it was seized up rusted looked like I just found it in the river my neigbhor says lets go to sears they have a 100% lifetime replacement garuntee on there tools I was like bro look at this thing he said trust me we took it to the mall where sears is and as I saw the manager come walking towards me with a smerk I was like this dude is gonna say "are u kidding me" he handed me a brand new breaker bar with a flexible head and said have a good day..... For us guys that cant afford to spend 40K on tools trust me wish I could Craftsman is the best out there..

Default Weekend Mechanic

For the weekend wrencher, Craftsman are hard to beat for normal stuff. I been buying Craftsman tools since the 70's. I have only broken a few, but that was under abuse. I also have a few Jim's and Motion Pro specialty stuff. The stuff at Home Depot or Lowe's would likley be fine. SK are good too, a little pricey for a weekend guy. I do like the SK chrome.
