I have a Jagg 10 row on my 2007 Fatboy. I live and ride in Florida. To me, it is a must have item. My bike was running around 255 degrees (as measured in the oil tank) on hot days. With the cooler it has never gone over 220. I do not have a thermostat-one less thing to malfunction. It is almost never below 50 when I ride. Get the anti-rotation thingy so the base does not rotate when taking the filter off and on. I also change the oil hoses every 2 years to avoid any leaks. That is the only downside-oil leaks. Just need to keep an eye on it.
I don't remember who...Mud? Used an oil cooler off a certain model Volvo car that is common...and made his own cooler package on the cheap. Maybe someone saved the link?
Been looking around...$200+ for the kits are common.

not quite right Vinsil........
I used the 14 row Jagg and purchased it from them..... jagg core is made by setrab sweden...... .

I'll copy and paste this from the thread you are probably referring to...........
.
. A friend of mine was admiring my Jagg cooler.
He called it *badass*.
And it is.
14 row high quality construction.
Two daze later he calls and says he has a cooler for me.
He was running an old Volvo over the scales
and when the crane picked it up in the air he spotted the trans cooler.
so, he harvested it before the carcass was dropped into the crusher.
I have the cooler on the shelf now.
It is the same as my Jagg.
That's it! Thanks Mud. After all said and done...is this a cost effective way to do it? I would imagine the only $$ parts are the filter adapter and clamps and bypass...the rest can be fabbed and the hoses/cooler would be cheap. Compared to the $200 kits that is.....
Very nice mod there Mud!@ I'm going to do this the next time I put mine in the shop. I didn't have a problem with heat over the summer here in Virginia, but I did not spend any time in the city. Next season though that'll be a different story. Need some reassurance for a longer engine life span.
No downsides to an oil cooler on an air cooled motor, stock or modified. Pick a good quality cooler, such as Jagg, that has the least amout of pressure drop.
