Since the picture I have of course removed the reflectors, put on some hyway pegs (I think I'm going to keep the mid controls, at least for now), put on some smoked lenses on the front turn signals, and bought the kit to move the signals from the bars to the forks (don't know if I'm going to do this or not).
Of course I have been looking into pipes, A/C and covers, seats maybe a windshield (I commute on the highway) and some different bars ( way too many choices, this may take some time).

Sounds like so far you've taken about the same approach that I did on my new one.
By the way, if your experience is anything like mine that shock wrench will be the best 11 bux you ever spend on the bike. I weigh about 250 and my wife is no bantamweight either (hope she never comes here!) so I was essentially riding a rigid. Twisting the preload all the way up completely changed the character of the bike from tortuous to a joy to ride.
