Guys, my question is only about the fairing.
Here is the look I am after.
No offence, but my properly tuned SE RK does not need any performance mods to compete with FXR's.
I am just looking for an advice on fairing mounts.

If you're running the canyons, it does.

If you plan to run the stock RK forks, the bottom opening of the fairing will need to be modified. A standard FXRT Fairing won't even fit a Fat Bob's forks without a bit of trimming. And of course the RK has shrouds on the fork legs making them even a bit wider than the Fat Bob's Wide Glide. Keep in mind they were designed to be used with Narrow Glide forks.
Joe from Deviant Fabrications advised me that the area at the left arrow would need to be trimmed so the forks could turn their entire radius without contacting the fairing. The right arrow is pointing out an area that "I think" was cut away and added a fiberglass extension. Probably to widen it for the wider forks.
If you're really interested in doing this, you should probably call some of the MFG's of these Repo fairings to get their opinions of fitment. As far as mounting hardware, you'll probably either have to make it yourself, or modify a Dyna kit.
Thanks a lot for a helpful post.
I actually contacted DevFab already.
As to the forks – the bike is crashed, there is NO front end at all, so I am free to choose any forks I want. Am leaning towards the inverted front end kit.
Inverted forks are slimmer and will probably not require trimming of fairing "skirt"?

The width of the triple trees is more of a determining factor than the diameter of the fork legs. If you're running inverted Fork legs with a narrow glide type of triple trees, you've got it made. If you run inverted Fork legs with wide glide type triple trees, clearance will probably be an issue.
I'll bet Joe can tell you what overall width not to exceed.

Depends on what brand maybe ,my inverted's are larger that a standard wide glide at the tree's I had to make fatter fork stops and add material to the frame to keep them off the tanks at fork lock.

Call Freakshow Tattoo @ (970) 308-1666 and speak to Daniel Dolan, that is his bike in the pic. Or maybe google JD Customs FXRT RePop, they are the ones that made the fairing.
If you wish to put on a FXR fairing, just make simple mounts and no cutting is necessary when installing it on a FLT with stock forks.
If you want to put a steering stem in back of the forks with 4" of trail, also done that for many years, not new. Better steering the forks must be in front of the neck as the wheel always self centers and always pushes back when the steering stem is in front of the fork as what is on a 1984~current FLT. The FLT's have a goose neck just like choppers of old.
This a current Bagger:
This is a new style FLT with a steering stem in front of the fork tubes
This is a new style FLT with a steering stem behind the fork tubes
This is a pre-new style (steering stem in front of the fork tubes) found like almost forever:
Howard,
Thanks for answering.
What if I want to keep stock FLT geometry and handling? I really do.
Can you offer me an inverted front end kit that would work with FXR fairing?
Yes I can once I have he time to actually do the work. There is really no big difference between the inverted forks and the 49mm fork tubes you see on the copper 2011 FLT. When I designed my 1986~2013 FLT trees, I did so with the idea that I could put an inverted fork in the holes with just a change of the program when circle milling them on the first step when on the vertical milling machine. Once done we just put the proper sized locator posts in the fixture and the rest of the tree is the same when put on the horizontal milling machine. This set of trees are not meant for the 2014~current baggers, another model is used. I am well busy until after the 4th of July catching up on back work. No firecrackers & dogs for me.
