Well, I've been reading a ton of posts, and I think I have my lowering options pretty much narrowed down.
For my 2000 FXD, I'm looking at putting 11" Progressive 412s on the back. My question is about the front. I see where some slide their tubes up the tree about an inch to compensate for the lowered rear. Is this a good long-term solution, or more of a band-aid? Am I better off getting the drop in progressive springs at the same time I lower the rear? If sliding the tubes is just as good, then I don't mind saving 100 bucks or so...
I say slide them but if you got the cash, put the springs in. Your tubes will have a ring around them that will be visable when you slide them so they will somtimes get on your nerves.
It's not just about lowering..fitting PS drop in kit stiffens up the front and stops the dive..and lowers.. I'd do the front at the same time your doing the back..more balanced ride
