The Fatbob is a super handling bike, it's that front tire. I've had mine on long tours and I mean long and it's great. Comfy, great handling and badass looks, what more could you want.
I've had my Fat Bob for just over a year now and I couldn't be happier. I've done a couple of over night trips and many long day trips. To me it's the perfect balance. You can have it stripped down for a minimalist approach and just tear up the roads....OR, add the bags and accessories and take it on the long haul. What more could you want?
Had mine 6 months now, and it's definitely a keeper. Came off a 01 Road King Classic and I much prefer the Fat Bob's handling, torque, and overall ride. As for the 103 kit, go for a good set of cams - more bang for the buck!
I've been riding Kawi sportbikes for years then one day I went to the dealer to buy a battery for my brothers HD, I saw the Fatbob and finally went with an HD, no regrets here.
When I was planning to trade in my Nightster I dreamed of the Night Rod Special for months. Looked at photos of it and read articles on it. When it came down to brass tacks I felt the non-traditional looks of it might grow old on me and I didn't like the riding position. I wanted something for longer rides and wound up getting my Fat Bob. No regrets. I would still love a NRS as a second bike but no way would I replace the Bob with it.
Love mine. Comfortable, handles well, actually has decent brakes. Have done several 1000 plus mile road trips with no windshield with no complaints. I think it's also a great platform if you want to make your own bobber. I cant see getting rid of this one.
Have had my Fat Bob about a year and a half. Hard to grin for that long but it just seems to always be there. You can not go wrong with the fxdf. Super on long rides.
Thanks everyone for your replies. I decided to go for it and brought home my 2011 Sedona Orange Fat Bob yesterday! I took it out for a 40 mile ride and I LOVE it! The handling is great and riding position way more comfortable than I have been used to. With plenty of Torque, this thing is a blast to ride!
I went ahead and ordered the big bore 103 kit with rush slip ons that I will have installed when the pipes come in. Can't wait!
Nice day today, so I am planning on putting some more miles on it! Thanks again for your comments. Cheers.
