I guess I am a fumble fingers cause I just don't trust my ability to get it off in a quick situation.

Thanks for the input though.
The beauty of using the stock throttle lock is that you don't have to "get it off". Once you get the feel of it, you just engage it enough to hold the throttle when your hand is off of it but you can still turn the throttle at any time. All it takes is a light pressure to hold the throttle. And obviously, I wouldn't recommend using it in crowded traffic situations.

Oh ok, I think one of my old Honda's had that, just kinda added some friction to the throttle but still turned easy. Don't remember there being any adjustment on the Honda, just came that a way. That was so many yrs ago it's hard for me to remember. I guess even fumble finger me could handle that.
Thanks

Comes in handy to lock throttle at full to adjust throttle cables properly also...

I dare not use my throttle lock. I think there must be something buggered in it cause you have to wind it forever, then its suddenly on, HARD. I have messed around with it a fair bit trying to get a feel for it but its either jammed on or completely off, no middle ground with the thing.
It scares the crap out me, last thing i want is a wide open throttle when i don't need it. Making sure its off is one of my pre flight checks.

It can be fixed. Very easily, in fact.

I use mine the same way ... when I get up on the highway, just snug it down enough to barely hold it ... I can roll it up or down slightly if need be to adjust speed ... and it can still be rolled through the full range of motion (all the way down) as need be to address the traffic situation ....
