Default Steering damper

On a recent tour, I noticed a slight "weave" of the front end going down-hill or at speeds over 100mph...it was noticable if grip was relaxed on the bars, especially going down a steep hill at speed...would a steering damper help? Will be checking fall-away, wheel true and balance but this was all done before the trip. Anyone on here use a damper?

A weave is the problem associated with alignment and tires (usually the rear with weave)
A wobble is associated with a front end and is dependant on many factors for it to happen and it happens in varying degrees, some fatal. A post on the Death Wobble thread states that they still had a wobble with a damper on the bike. The wobble is something that is multifaceted and should not be the only reason for getting a steering damper.
I remember back in the 60's Honda had a Scrambler model that came stock with a steering damper. Was mounted quite neatly from the frame neck to the bottom tree. Looked very neat and tidy compared to some aftermarket dampers you see for sale now.
