Brentster, are the HD adjustables chrome? Like the powder coating though, nice!
Yeah they're chrome and for some strange reason the adjustable mounts from HD are cheaper than the fixed mounts-but very nice quality and go on easy.

If you should decide on the forwards go to the dealer and sit on a couple of Dynas that have them stock first. They may or may not fit you. I'm ~5'-11" so don't think of myself as short but the stocks forwards were too far away for me to feel in control. So I went with the highways and kept the mid controls.

I do miss the floorboards on my Fatboy when I'm riding the SG though, so I put a set of the Kury Dually Iso pegs on with stirrups. Not quite the same as floorboards but so far I'm liking them.

I'll go against the norm here...

Had put highway pegs on my bike at first. Really enjoyed stretching out and found myself quite cramped on the stock mid controls. Coming off sportbikes, I wanted to relax on the bob.

Also found myself putting my feet on the highway pegs more and more...until the point I was shifting and braking while on the highway pegs. I figured at that point, I should be getting forwards for comfort.

I went with black HD forwards. Had the weld break on the shifter, but I welded it back up better and no issues. I for one, find I have plenty of control of the bike and regularly drag my heel rests so I do push my bike pretty hard, but feel more comfort with the forwards.

I didn't leave my mid pegs on, but a person could for a different position. I just felt too cramped and would never use the mid pegs so off they came.

I can see how some like the mid controls/hwy peg setup, just felt the setup was not for me and mine were chrome, stuck out like a sore thumb and made my bike look....busy. YMMV of course, just a different option and opinion.

IMHO keep the mids and try the highway pegs...I was ready to put forward controls on myself, but after riding this summer around my area (city/highway) I realized I would not have like forward controls. just my .02

Have always had mid-controls on all my bikes and wouldn't have it any other way; better all around for my short inseam; better control, surer handling. HD 2-position highway pegs were purchased on oBoy; I sub-drilled a 3rd set of holes for a closer position (after photo was taken) and mounted stock pegs purchased from a fellow member here. These provide not only a way to stretch out periodically to avoid cramping, but allow a significant change in seating position to ease fatigue on long trips. Mounting is dirt simple--don't forget to Loctite.

Just because you have forward controls on the bike, does not mean you can't shoot twisties...

I run the HD forwards, with Kuryakyn Swing Wing pegs. Folded up, they are almost like mini-boards, but locked in the 'out' position... gives a lot of stretching room. I still have lot's of different positions to put my foot and leg with them... I even put the passenger pegs down sometimes, and put my foot back on them..

I'm running mids with a pair of ebay scored Kury highway pegs. I like them on long highway trips bc they let me stretch out. Although after seeing the HD adjustable I'm thinking of switching. BrentsterS they look great powder coated on your bike.

Go with forward controls and mids, the best of both worlds. I think mids are for short ***** or guys that want a more sporty ride(get a crotch rocket I say).

I don't understand all the talk about less control with forwards..... you don't have any less control with forwards.. you may feel uncomfortable in the position they put you in, and 'think' you have less control.... personally I love 'em.
