Hello, I'm looking at a 2011 street bob. I was hoping to get information on this bike.I was up till 3am reading this forum. Are there any problems with this bike? Do they run hot? Are they dependable? Thanks for any reply.
Jim
I wouldn't and don't worry over the cam chain tensioners . The only real problem in the past were the springs that kept the tension . That design was improved with the 96" motor . Also the the tensioners themselves were upgraded with a better material . A new twin cam Harley will be as dependable as most riders will ever need . If you want one....Go get it .
I don't think you will find anyone on here with a SB that says they don't like it... In fact I think you will see some people with other dyna's that modify their bikes to look more like a SB... JMO
Thanks, that's what i was afraid of. Also i read about some kind of tensioner issues.
Thanks again
Jim
Add a fuel management of some kind and the motor will run richer "more fuel" cooler engine. Synthetic oils also help cool the engine. Maybe you need to look up the Honda line up. Most of their bikes are liquid cooled.

seems you don't think much of the dependability of harleys already? have you had any past experience, or are you only working with the opinions of non-harley riders...??
thus far mine's been a champ, ridden it in temps over 100* and so far as low as the upper teens, always fires up and always brings a smile.... it's a warm "upper 30's" right now and i'm heading out for a ride
if you like the style of the 11SB, get it, no reason it should let you down unless you treat it like crap and don't do any maintenance - in which case any bike/vehicle/mechanical/electrical item will let you down someday
