This is my winter project.
Basically I went from this
To this
The Idea was to turn my "Bob" into a regular motorcycle with a real paintjob, real shocks, and regular handle bars. The tank and front fender are from a 2010 Street Bob, the rear fender is from a 2010 FXD.The shocks are Harley "Profile" 12" air shocks. And the bars are from a Nightster.I like the bars allot they're not as wide as the Flanders H5s I had before but they're plenty comfortable for me and feel kinda aggressive which I like.I still have some work to do as you know they're never really done I intend to dewrap the Thunderheader and repaint it and I'm polishing the sidecover band as well.I also plan on keeping the saddle bags and big puffy seat just in case but I will be having allot of extra parts here for sale in the near future.
Thanks for the compliments it's like having a new bike really. What do you think about putting chrome heat shields on a flat black Thunderheader? I've heard of it but can't recall ever seeing it done.
Looks great, clean lines. I,m toying with new bars for pretty much the same reason as you mentioned. I,d assume the narrower bars reduce the "sail like" feeling at speed. The chrome heat shields should look good with the black pipe.
