Default Convert detachable windshield to quick release?

Searched and didn't find an answer. Can a detachable windshield designed for the hardware that stays on the bike be converted to the quick-release style? I got this windshield and hardware as part of a package and want to use the windshield, but not leave the mounts on the bike. I will rarely use the windshield which is why I don't want the hardware on the bike for the 99% of the time that I won't be using the windshield. 2003 Dyna Low-Rider.

Can you return your windshield and buy the quick detachable version? Its about $360 at the dealer. I am not sure the clamps will work on your screen because the hardware looks different than mine. But others with more knowledge will chime in.

Good luck,
Don

Not the same situation as yours, but, This is how I did Memphis Shade shield to Harley Quick Detach mounts.
Works great..

If you can get the four release clamps, go for it! At most you might need to buy a few capscrews, nuts, washers and a piece of about 1" x 1/8" flat bar to cut up for brackets. Quick release IS the way to go for those of us that like to take them off.

The quick release clamps are available in all sizes as HD parts items. I've used them on a couple of bikes to fit fly screens and other non-HD screens. Should work fine in this case.

Default Update: pretty easy mod

Ordered 4 39mm quick detach clamps (1 locking) from Surdyke for under $100. Cut the bracket off a the red line. Used existing upper hole for retaining bolt, enlarged to 5/16". Drilled a new lower hole to 5/16". bolted the clamps to the holes with some stainless bolts from the local hardware store. Clamps right onto the forks and fits great.

if you have the quick clamps I will change my plan but text me 7one4 717 77four7 quickly please.
140 bucks for four of them from the stealer! wtf? suck my what?
4 dollars in hoseclamps way more atractive to my miser ***

Hose clamps will help to keep the detachable hardware from staying on the bike when the windshield is removed, but I'd hardly call them quick release. My quick release windshield comes off in under 5 seconds.

On the other hand, I wouldn't care to have the left behind detachable hardware on my bike when going shieldless, either, but I would trim those hose clamps to be a bit shorter, or at least keep a screw gun handy for putting them on and taking them off.
