I doubt they did anything to the fender, just shorter shocks. Go messing with the fender and things don't line up quite right, like the seat.

Awesome stance on ^ FXDWG I love it!!

Ackman: do you even know what fender modification your so worried about? I think the only fender modification one would have to think of would be between the belt guard and fender on the left side. I would just ride the bike slammed until something happens and then address the known issue. The wiring harness under the fender has always been my main concern with going too low on other bikes, but i dont believe that wouold be much of a problem w 10.5" shocks set on the stiff setting.

Do you even understand what I'm saying here? I'm not worried about any fender mod. What I am refering to is if the OP means slamming the fender by lowering it in the struts then it won't mate up to the seat properly and would just look odd. Everything you are talking about is in regards to lowering the bike with shocks and in that respect you are right, wiring harness and belt guard could be an issue.

Is it possible to say ditto to this twice?

Mine 2010 W.G. lowered 1 inch blocks Me (235lbs) 1 nice little dip in the road = bleeder into the fender! Shocks on 4.

The wifes 2010 Street Bob. 1.75" blocks, her (tiny) no problem) bike loaded down with my fat butt and luggage though, = bleeder into fender! Shocks on 4

Thankfully they are not visible unless your laying down looking up!

I had this problem with the bleeder into the fender with 1" bolcks. But my main concern was handling with it lowered, I would scrape everywhere so I build a custom exhaust. then I started grinding my $100 pegs which are worthless now.

My suggestion would be lower the fender and leave the bike at factory height. this is what I'm doing now. I'm pulling the fender to cut a relief for the bleeder and anything else I find that will hit and then having it repainted because my 2up seat ruined the paint on it anyway.

Mine is lower 1" in the front and stock on the rear now.

I have mine lowered on 9.5 inch solid struts.

I will try and get a pic up. This forum is so different than my car one.

Not the best pic but I have one more i can try to get up.

The bleeder screw is the problem, mine hit as well, goingto send the OP pictures of all the areas of concern tomorow.

Where the bleeder screw hit mine im going to now go at it with a die grinder and notch out that area and touch it up with paint to stop any would be rust. As far as handling goes, mine handles the same if not better lowered in the rear. but the stock exhaust with slip ons did scrape in turns, i had forgot about that, since i changed to short shots its a non issue(i hated the stock exhaust anyhow).

Sorry to bring up a thread that's been burried a few days....but wow...what a small world.

This exact bike is for sale on consignment here locally at Cajun Harley Davidson in Lafayette, La. Sadly they're asking more than a brand new one cost. This damn thing is mean lookin.

i lowered mine with burly shocks and have no problem with the bleeder but i did have to cut 2 inch's off the forward bottom of the fender because it was hitting on one of the mounting bolts on the passenger peg....o and you have to take your belt guard off
