Post Steering head cover

My manual says "with HD hubcab remover and installer, unscrew and remove stem cap".

Well I don't have this tool, just thought I would check with you guys before I start messing up my stem cap trying to get it off.

Is it possible to get this off with a jar remover or something like that?
Does it unscrew or pop up ?

Hopefully I don't have to actually buy this tool since I probably will have to order it and wait.
Appreciate all help as usual.

Thanks Joe, didn't have any rubber bands but I found some scrap rubber strips in the garage and wrapped them around it as tight as I could get them and then twisted them into a kinda of a rope thing I could grip and it twisted right off just like you said.

I think my wife has a rubber jar opener that would have worked but she is not here not and I could not find it.

What a great forum this is, and great helpful members.
Thanks again.

Ain't that the truth. She says I want to leave everything out looking like a junk pile, but when she puts it away I have to get her to find it.

She is the boss of the kitchen but she knows not to touch nothing in the garage. In that domain I want everything to be right where I left it last time.

I think those little chinese girls had trouble translating the new manuals. The old ones say beat the **** out of it with a hammer.

Not in this case the little girls did fine. I just was worried the tool might actually be required. Now in some other areas the old ones could have said to beat the **** out of it and still made more sense that what is written.
