Default What to do?

I have a 2006 Dyna Lowrider, I'd like to install mini ape hanger handle bars, the same type that come from the factory on a Street Bob, either 1in, or 1.25s. The problem I'm coming across is with the light indicator on the riser. has anyone solved this dilemma, and if so whats the alternative. Thanks in advance.

If you don't care about loosing the tach you can use the tank trim from a street bob and move it to the tank.

Here is how I did mine. I just cut off and milled the original risers so they were square with the clamp area. Then I cut off the front trim piece with a hand grinder. I milled them so they were about 1 3/4 inch tall. I used stock street bob cables and brakeline and my factory wiring harnesses were long enough. I have a few more pictures if you want to see them.

Looks good Jimbo, did you have to rethread the riser?

Yeah, once I got them milled square I had to drill and tap them but the aluminum drills and taps easily.

I'm not able to receive or view the pictures. However, earlier this evening I saw a picture of a modification were the indicator lights were installed between the speedo and tach, Looked pretty sharp. I was also thinking, after getting a street bob dash and getting it chromed. to install aa combination speedo/ Tach.?? it should work.

Maybe I am missing something. Why not just keep the risers and just paint them black Then just switch the bars

desilt,
Spoke with a rep today at my local H-D dealership about changing to a street bob dash, I was informed that since there's a difference in the dash's it will not fit the Lowrider. I did find a real nice set up on V-Twin Forum, the person moved his indicator lights to his dashboard. Between his speedometer and Tach.

Don't speak to that guy any more.

The street bob dash works on a low rider they use the same tank. I have a tank off a low rider on my super glide I went with the 2010 wide glide dash so I could move the switch from the neck.

If you don't want to lose the tach you could run a speedo tach combo. Several guys also just added some LED lights to the LR dash to replace the stock dummy lights. I even saw one guy mount the stock lights between the tach and speedo.

Picture of LR tank with WG dash
