Default Tank lifts-few questions

I own a '11 strret bob. I like the look of a tank lift, but will it change fuel gauge reading, miles to empty, or miles to the tank? Thinking of a 1 1/2" lift.

It makes the gauge read lower than it is, by about 50 highway cruising miles.

2" on my 06'. Didnt change a thing, but with the Dyna gas gauge, how can you be sure? Keeping track of milage is the safest way.

The gauge dose not work right anyway....I set my trip meter every fuel stop....I still go the 150 and then fuel up again....

I had a 3in and a 2in,,no matter what anyone says,,,,,Yes it throws it off, like some have said, the fuel light will come on before it should,,with a 2in lift my light will come on at half a tank,,,,as long as you have some common sense you will be alright! On my bike i just wait till it hits red/ E (light has been on for a few)then get gas, which still has 1-1.5 g left!
