Cutting down the shield

I am planning on cutting down my windshield by 2 inches. I did one before on thinner plastic. I have to say it wasn't fun. I did a search but no real good info. I will take any advice and even a name of a business that does it for a living. 89 days to posible riding weather up here.

It's really easy to do like the above links say. I cut 2.5 inches off the top of my HD compact w/s. started out by covering the w/s with masking tape. Marked out the shape I wanted. Then I used a band saw but a jig saw will also work fine. After cutting I used a file to get a nice clean straight edge. Finally I sanded using several grits of paper ranging from 180 to 600 with a little soapy water. Shines up real nice. You can also use a propane torch along the edge to make it clear after the sanding process.

Dean, I have a short windshield. I replaced it for the taller one. Its the windshield only. I will sell it to you because its in a box in my garage. I will sell it cheap if it will work for you. It came off of my 2007 FXDC detachable. Lightly smoked. Like new condition. I just want to get it out of my garage along with all the other stuff in there.
