If you put your Fatbob on a lift, then support the motor with a scissor jack you should be able to get by without an engine alignment. If you do decide to perform the alignment procedure do it after you install both front and back stabilizers and disconnect both Heim joints. Then, as you re-attach the Heim joints adjust them so that they are in a neutral position (not pushing, or pulling, on the motor mounts).

It's not a terribly difficult install, but an extra pair of hands while installing the rear stabilizer is well worth the cost in beer! Once you've got 'er installed just pick a line and hold on - you're gonna love it!

This question gets asked quite often. Take a little time to look through earlier posts. The rear mount will benefit from two heads and pairs of hands, but the results are worth the effort. Your bike will ride sweeter the moment you pull away.

do not try to mount the rear one without dismantling it like the instructions say - it is impossible.

remove the link and it is a 20 minute job.

the front one is piece of cake.

cheers

this is an excelent mod
like others have said the front is very simple but the back was difficult for me to do alone laying on my back . I had to bend the rear brake line to get everything in place. Mine is an 06, so i don't know how different it is.

It seems many of us have different experiences with the install. The most difficult job I had was with the two screws that go from side to side on the trans. They were the wrong way round on my bike and getting them out to refit from the other side was very testing of my patience. I walked away a couple of times! Getting in the mount was made easier with some gentle pursuation courtesy a soft mallet! I had resolved by then this was going to work.....

Results when riding are quite something.
