Default Risers for 2009 fatbob

I found some Z bars that i like, I kinda want to go with a lower riser tho to make my tank look bigger.. However a buddie told me that I may not be able to go less then 3" with the riser due to clearance for the handle bars when turning... Anybody dealt with this before??

If you're changing bars, you can lower the risers, sure. The only area to be concerned with would be the width of the lower section of the bar, where they attach to the risers. If it's too wide down there, it could hit the tank, but that is very unlikely.

Well, I guess my comment depends on what size z bar you're going with too. I'm assuming apes in my comment above, but if your target bars don't have much rise to them, then lower risers would be a problem.

Wait until you can hold them up to your bike to make that decision, so you know exactly how they will fit and feel. If you need some shorty risers PM me when you find out, I have some laying around.

Me I would leave the 4" risers on there and add a 2" tank lift, although that is just me.

Screw a tank lift. That just looks weird.

I think the bars are badass though. How much rise? Who makes em. Looks like it'd be hard to run wireing in em.

If you sit on the bike and hold it upright and push the bars to left and right limits you could lay a yard stick across the risers at about the height you want and see if it hits the tank. Might give you an idea.

How wide are the bars, they look 32-34" with 3" or so rise. If thats the case i,d imagine you could lower your risers to around 1 1/2" - 2". If you really like ,em i,d get them and set them up against you bike and buy a set of risers to suit.
