Default power upgrade

I have a 02 super glide (carburetorated) that is stock. I want to boost the power. Any suggestions?

Can you be a bit more specific on what you're looking to achieve?

Is the bike stock?

Speed costs. How fast do you want to spend?

I was thinking to start with maybe an exhaust and an airbreather upgrade just to wake the bike up a bit. I was asking more on the lines of manufacture ideas. thanks

You're looking for a needle in a haystack with your question! One suggestion is get yourself a long drink and browse through old posts here, to see what others have done. That way you may be able to get a clearer idea.

Another suggestion is to visit a local indy and talk things through with him. In a 2-way conversation he can guide you through the many options and help zero in on a solution. Then give him the work!

Are you looking for an increase in top end speed or faster response in passing? Nitrous would help both but would give you a greater initial boost. Replacing the intake system would give you a few more HP but you may not notice the increase depending upon how aggressive you are in your driving style. Your exhaust swap would yield similar results.

Lots of options depending upon where you want to go. You could get a turbo or supercharger, but that is in the 4 digit range. Before doing that, I would suggest a 96 mod.

Pipes, aircleaner and a re-jet of your carb will be cheapest...but also the least return. 95" with more compression, cams and headwork really wake them 88's up...after that your wallet and driveability are your concerns...have fun; keep a goal in sight so you don't have to do too many things twice.

Sharkey's advice is spot on. A stage 1 (A/C, pipes and re-jet) will wake up the bike (it is very restricted in the stock setup) and may be all you want/need. If you're looking for just a bit more, throw in a cam. If you're looking for a lot more, than plan it out as thoroughly as possible since it will get costly.
