Default V&H Pipe size

May be a silly question but I have been looking at the V&H shortshots for my 04 SuperGlide. I want the ones that have the black ceramic heat shield on them but they are only listed for the 06 and up models. My question is will those fit on my 04 or is the exhaust different. I know that the motor went from 88ci to 96 but just thought I would try to get some input. Thanks.

Well, I have talked to people that have mounted older pipes on newer bikes, I have also heard there was a small change in the heads that may not allow them to bolt to the heads. So based on that I am building a set of pipes off a Fatbob for my 05 WG, so I hope the info I have is correct, I got a smokin deal on them and will have less than $100 in them total when done, so not a big loss if it does not work. At a minimum you would have to make your own mount for the pipes.

FYI, if you do find they work, get the shortshots STAGGERED, not the regular shortshorts. The regular sound horrible because they are smaller dia.

I don't know what would be different with the heads that would keep them from fitting. They still use the same gaskets and the pipes I have were for the 2005 and older Dyna's and they worked on my 06 with some mods.

Damn, wish i was home so I could bolt my new pipes up and provide a definitive answer. I agree with ackman, I think the only real difference is mounting.
These are the new ones made from a set of Fatbob pipes.

If you are still wondering, I have the answer... I built mine and they bolt right up with no changes to the head pipes, just need to make a bracket to secure the tailpipe section to the trans.
