Risdo, I may try your technique too. Always up for experimenting and seeing where I can shave a few dollars. Though, I will admit, even with paint nothing looks as good as powder. But again, not like this is a show bike or something.

Ok guys... Im looking to powder coat the rear stock shocks of my 07 SB... how easily do the shocks come apart? I would like to coat the spring itself, the"cap" that goes over the top bolt and probably the top and bottom "caps" of the shock itself... has anyone taken apart the stock shock? Is it even recommended? Im ASSUMING that a good powder coating job on the spring will survive and compression\unloading that will happen with day to day riding???
