I'm wanting to pull the trigger on these Avon Custom Contours for my new bars, but wanted to hear what others thought that may be using them first...or had used them in the past. Thanks for any feedback.
The Avons are copies of the PM Renthal grips. This statement is by the way, not my opinion, but rather from the Avon rep when I inquired about their grips.
They are very similar style, but have a little different feel due to the differences in the rubber. The PM's are a bit more money, around $100 - 120, and superior in my opinion. Some feel the difference in cost is worth it, and others don't.
I have those in black on my bike. I had another set of PM's on a diff bike. They look and feel exactly the same. both are tacky when warm/hot and both leave nice black marks on your bare hands. I'll save the $60 and keep buying Avons. I usually hate riding bare handed but with these I actually prefer it.
I have the air cushioned Avons with rubber and chrome rings. Like them very much. Much slimmer than Kuryakyns and do away with almost all hand numbness.
