I just installed some Vance and Hines straight shots on my 09 Dyna super glide. Got everything back on correctly and getting some leaking at the two connecting sites. i believe I have them tight enough, should I get some new clamps? what should i do.
What did you tighten the clamps too? When I changed my 1st set of mufflers I was getting leaks. Inquired what to torque the bolts to and was told 80 ft pounds. Torqued the bolts down and all was well. Used the same clamps for a 3rd set of rush slip ons and torqued to 80 and all was fine.
On the rebuild I switched to BCT Baffles and asked the tech to switch out the original clamps and bolts as they were rusty.

Karsten
Not sure Karsten just tightened them down really tight, how can i tell how much tourqe?
What he said. I also had some leaking when i had rush slipon put on. I loosened the bolts and took a rubber mallat and hit the end to get them on more. They move about 1/2 inch and no more leaking. So you may want to see if you can get them on somemore.
Thanks guys I'm going to break it back down today recheck the measurements make sure they are on all the way before I go buy some new clamps. I will let you know how it goes.
