The clamps are supposed (according to HD) be single use. So ,yes, new clamps sounds like a good plan.

What did you tighten the clamps too? When I changed my 1st set of mufflers I was getting leaks. Inquired what to torque the bolts to and was told 80 ft pounds. Torqued the bolts down and all was well. Used the same clamps for a 3rd set of rush slip ons and torqued to 80 and all was fine.

On the rebuild I switched to BCT Baffles and asked the tech to switch out the original clamps and bolts as they were rusty.

My Krome Werks called for 65 lbs. No matter, you're on the verge of buying new anyway so crank on them until they don't leak or break. What's to lose?

What he said. I also had some leaking when i had rush slipon put on. I loosened the bolts and took a rubber mallat and hit the end to get them on more. They move about 1/2 inch and no more leaking. So you may want to see if you can get them on somemore.
