Installed the Lindby Multibar, removed the tank "blades" (makes the tank look longer to me), blacked out the battery band, oil fill cap and the AC cover core. Little changes with the blacking out that I'm liking the looks of and they cost almost nothing to do. Now just waiting on my mini shaker boards to arrive.
Edit note: added a "before" pic (last thumbnail) which does show the battery band already blacked out. Also added notes on the "after" pic (middle thumbnail).
What did you use to black out the center of your air cleaner cover. Looking to do the same thing on my bobber. Looks good and I'm all in for cheap mods - as you can tell from my AC cover.

I used a can of spray in truck bed liner I picked up at Home Depot for $8. The same stuff I used on the battery band and the oil fill cap. I just masked it off and sprayed it, cause I'm cheap that way. LOL
PS. ya need to update your sig pic DW and get that "other" bike off of there.
No sanding of the chrome needed. It's like a mix of tar and paint. Stuff is great and cheap.
I really like the internal black only on the AC. Really jumps. I'd also suggest blacking out the Lindby bar. I have the same one sitting in my closet...I can't decide if I'm going to mount it, black it out, or just sell it.

I went back and forth about chrome or black on the Lindby and finally decided on the chrome. I'm trying to maintain a balance between the black and the chrome on the bike instead of going chrome crazy or totally blacking everything. I really like the shape of the Lindby over most bars and having another place to set my feet never hurts either.

Doesn't the Lindby put your feet up awfully high? I have forwards on my '99 FXD, and I'd love to get some highway pegs, but it seems like if they're up high enough to clear the brake and shifter the pegs will be higher than my hips.
Which is OK watching TV, but I'm not so sure about rolling down the highway at 70+.
