Just put a set of Vance and Hines slip ons onto my 06 Dyna Super Glide (sreaming eagle A/C and fuelpak) Look and sound great, good throttle respone, pulls great, even better at 60-70mph.
The question is have alittle popping on decel at low speed not a backfire just a little uneven sound acceleration is smooth no problem. Should I be concerned about this? Took bike for 150 mile run cheched plugs looked good.
Is there any ajustments to the fuelpak settings to smooth the decel sound.
I get the same slight popping on decel in 2nd gear with m,y SE2 Slip-Ons, Big sucker and PCIII. Plugs are picture perfect and the bike runs noticeable cooler. Unless the noise bothers you, you have nothing to worry about.
Mine has slight popping on decel as well,....nothing loud and no backfiring. I could tune it out with my SERT but I don't feel its hurting anything and it isnt worth the time of fine tuning it since my plugs look fine as well, but that just my opinion. Now if I had paid big money for a Dyno tune I might want perfection but I dont think you have anything to worry about.
I think exhaust leaks can cause popping on decel. If I were in your shoes I'd check for that and if everything's cool there and your plugs are reading okay, I'd leave it... unless the popping really bothers you. I like it.
Is it just me or does anyone else kinda like the popping on decel
I know people that think it's cool or just a normal part of the Harley charactor. To me it just sounds out of tune and is a constant source of irritation.
